*Original title of this 1946 release was MAN MADE MONSTER – Here is a tough-to-find shot of Rondo Hatton, billed as THE CREEPER – one look at him tells you why!
*Shock Theater was Universal Studios brilliant ploy to reintroduce their classic 1930’s monster films to new audiences via television. Shock Theater spawned a host of local TV show hosts who presented these films, which led to the success of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND MAGAZINE and the rise the first fanboys, later to take their place, like Spielberg and Lucas, as genre filmmakers, themselves.
*10 years old way back in 1958, I wrote to the TV stations near my small hometown of Asheboro, N.C., and begged them for photos of the monsters on TV that were now my heroes. This shot of Rondo was sent to me for my perseverance.
