An exemplary specimen of World War II Pin-Up Original Art. As of this writing, we have learned nothing about the artist, Joseph Faucon – except that he has shown an exceptional talent in this work – and was probably lonely as hell in the army in 1945. As with all true works of art, one wonders about its story. Was this lady a model on a portrait stage or a professional stripper in a vaudeville number? Did Faucon know her or was she from his imagination? We’ll probably never know more than we can see – a voluptuous, old-school nude in oil, painted at the end of World War II by a soldier in love or maybe just in need.
